1882 and all that

1882, Emily Johnson’s ceramics house, is showing a new collection at the Victoria and Albert Museum shop. Designers include Max Lamb, Mr. Brainwash, Fort Standard and as the above example shows myself. The showcase lasts until May 2013 and 1882’s mission is to “champion inventively designed ceramic products from lighting to domestic ware whilst employing the manufacturing heritage of North Staffordshire and promoting the British ceramic industry”

One of my favourite shops in the world

Claire De Rouen

Claire De Rouen, who sadly died recently, was a colleague and a friend but more importantly an original, a one off. Her knowledge of Photography and Fashion was as legendary as her style.

Her legacy, Clair de Rouen Books at 121-125 Charing Cross Road, (First Floor) showcases new and classic talent in both fields and is a must for anyone involved or interested in the creative arts.

Claire will be sadly missed by all who knew her - the Charing Cross Road will not be the same without her - the shop will continue to trade under the watchful eyes of those she trained.

As a dynamic contributor to the Inchbald year course Giray is a great asset as a tutor. His experience is broad, teaching design studio, CAD programs and providing opportunities for work experience for Inchbald students who have worked on a variety of his projects including a Design Award winning scheme for sustainable housing.
